August 18, 2008 - Reassembly

August 12, 2008 - New Parts

As you can see by comparing the date of the teardown update with this one there's been a healthy delay with this project.

In our defense, we should note that most of the parts being installed are being supplied by our customer and the fact is that some of them weren't in our possession before we began working on the car. But since our customer was assured deliveries were imminent, we went ahead and got things under way. Unfortunately, the word imminent seems to have several different meanings depending on who you ask, and one of the parts was several weeks late in arriving. Fortunately, we now have everything we need and the build can begin in earnest.

Audi's Mk1 TT certainly seems to be fond of fifteen52. This Nimbus Grey example found us all the way from North Carolina and is our third big turbo upgrade this year as well as our second GT3076R build. You could say third time's a charm, because this TT customer is not only upgrading to the large (for 1.8-liters) GT3076R turbo, he is also incorporating a ported and polished cylinder head and Dahlback Racing high-flow intake manifold. With this build we're shooting for 400-whp on pump gas.
